On the beaches in more developed areas of Greece, you can enjoy such water based activities as kayaking and wind surfing.  Although diving is banned in certain areas in Greece as there are antiquities under the water that have protection orders on them. Even if you’re out of these areas, you can still dive and hire all the necessary equipment.

You might be surprised to find out that you can ski in Greece, and a very enjoyable experience it is too. You will find many ski resorts, the most popular being the Parnossos Ski Centre which is on Mount Parnassos. Another of Greece’s charms is its fantastic wines and liquors, and visitors flock to its fruitful vineyards to sample the delights. So why not try your hand (or palette) at wine tasting during your holiday? You can even buy a bottle or three of any tipple that takes your fancy.

Greek wildlife is another top attraction, particularly for bird watchers, who will find plenty of spots perfect for just that. There are herons, pelicans, eagles and even storks in some of the areas.

There was a time when most of Greece’s accommodation consisted of low cost self catering apartments and budget hotels. Now there is a whole host of different places to stay on Greece holidays and you can easily find something to suit your price range when you are booking your break.
